Supporting beneficiaries who live with mental health disorders and addiction requires more than being financially savvy—it demands emotional intelligence, trauma awareness, and strategic relationship-building. This session explores the complexities fiduciaries face when managing relationships with beneficiaries impacted by conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and addiction. Attendees will learn how to recognize signs of mental health challenges, build trust without enabling, set healthy boundaries, and align support structures that promote both financial stability and personal growth. Through real-world examples and actionable strategies, participants will leave better equipped to create collaborative, compassionate, and effective relationships that balance legal obligations with human-centered care.
