SPEAKER BIOS
STEPHANIE L. COOK, ESQ. - Stephanie L. Cook is a litigation partner at Shuffield, Lowman & Wilson, P.A. focusing on a wide variety of fiduciary litigation matters including probate and trust litigation and contested guardianship cases. She is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Florida Bar Probate Rules Committee, and the Florida State Guardianship Association. She is currently one of the Vice Chairs of the Guardianship, Power of Attorneys and Advance Directives Committee of the Florida Bar RPPTL Section. She was named Thompson Reuters Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2015, 2016, and 2017 and a Florida Super Lawyer is 2019-2023. She was also nominated for Florida Trend Magazine’s Legal Elite in 2017, 2019-2022. She is also a frequent speaker on probate, trust and guardianship topics.
HARVEY LEONARD (LENNIE) BURKE - Lennie has worked as a Professional Guardian for over 20 years. He is certified as a National Master Guardian (one of six in Florida.)
His parallel career is in mediation and peacemaking. He is certified by the Supreme Court of Florida for County, Family, and Appellate Mediation.
He is trained in Christian Reconciliation and was accepted for candidacy as a Certified Christian Conciliator.
He has provided accredited training for guardians, mediators, attorneys, church leaders, and others.
He serves as an officer of the Florida State Guardianship Association and is a member of the National Guardianship Association and the Professional Fiduciary Council of Florida.
His first career spanned 34 years with the U.S. Navy, which included 14 years as a member of the Federal Senior Executive Service. His honors included an Award for Excellence from the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Career Civilian Service Award, the Meritorious Civilian Service Award, and a Unit Commendation Medal.
