ABOUT TAMMY M. FERRELL, CTFA, CAP® , ATFA

Tammy M. Ferrell joined Citizens Bank & Trust in 2016 and currently serves as a Sr. Trust and Wealth Advisor, working with clients throughout Polk County, Eastern Hillsborough, and beyond. Tammy’s primary focus centers on fiduciary administration, estate planning, and client wealth management, with advisory expertise in philanthropy and family governance. With over 40 years of experience, her role is to provide education, advice and assistance to individuals and families in the development and management of their wealth and legacy goals.

Prior to joining Citizens Bank & Trust, Tammy served as Vice President and Trust Advisor with The Northern Trust Company for nearly 11 years. Prior to that she worked with Salem Trust Company and NCNB (NationsBank/Bank of America) as a Relationship Manager in the Institutional Trust Department, where she worked her way through the ranks from a pension payments clerk to relationship manager/advisor.

Tammy grew up near Charleston, West Virginia, in the small town of Poca, where she enjoyed cheering for her Poca Dots and being involved with her church activities. She is a Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA), and a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®), Accredited Trust Financial Advisor and has an A.S. Degree in Business Administration from Hillsborough Community College. She and her husband are proud parents of a Labradoodle named Winny. They enjoy living on a golf course, where they spend time playing golf with friends. She is an AWANA Sparks Leader at her church and enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Developed through a partnership between the Professional Fiduciary Council of Florida and Stetson University College of Law, this two-week online program offers a comprehensive and practical overview of the powers and duties involved in serving as a Power of Attorney in Florida.

Participants will examine statutory roles, types of POAs, agent powers and limitations, and fiduciary duties. Emphasis is placed on execution requirements, “super” powers, and interpreting POA documents through real-world scenarios and legal guidance.

About Jim Wolverton, J.D.

Jim Wolverton is the Director of Fiduciary Education at True Link Financial. In this role, he is responsible for creating, curating, and promoting high-quality educational content to ensure fiduciaries have the knowledge and tools they need to effectively serve and protect their beneficiaries.

Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Utah State University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Oregon. Prior to joining True Link, he owned and operated his own law firm and served as Director of Education at ElderCounsel and Krause Financial. These roles provided him with extensive experience educating attorneys and fiduciaries by helping them efficiently implement planning tools into their practices.

Jim is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the Academy of Special Needs Planners (ASNP), and the Colorado, Utah, and Florida Bar Associations.

Based in Denver, Jim enjoys exploring the Rocky Mountains on foot, skis, bicycle or watching the clouds roll by while lying in a hammock next to a trout filled stream.
